As a shipping clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the shipping processes to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods. You will collaborate with various departments, such as warehouse, logistics, and customer service, to coordinate and execute shipments.
The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipments according to established procedures and shipping guidelines.
- Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation of all shipments.
- Maintain inventory records and track shipment details using computer systems or manual logs.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate the picking, packing, and staging of orders.
- Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to arrange shipment details and address any concerns or issues.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary shipping documents.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar shipping/receiving role.
- Familiarity with shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
