What are the responsibilities and job description for the WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE position at SPI LLC?
Summary
Operates and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences, as well as unload and move material. Assist with all tasks within fabrication shop as needed.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assist machine operators, handle product, visually sort and inspect, pack, and perform other operations that can be learned on the job
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, saws, profilers, grinders, and drill presses
- Cuts, joins, jackets, etc. materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished product from raw materials
- Track production on work orders and notify leadership of any mechanical or material issues
- Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
- Move parts into position, manually or with forklift or pallet jack
- Set up face blocks, jigs and fixtures
- Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces
- Unload pallets and move material within fabrication shop as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
- Previous fabrication experience preferred
- Teamwork and multi-tasking skills
- Must be able to operate a forklift and/or pallet jack
- Must be able to operate measuring devices
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to write legibly and communicate clearly with professionalism and courtesy
Work Environment
Fabrication/warehouse environment
Physical demands may include but are not limited to:
- High level of walking, standing, and/or climbing
- Stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Work outside/inside around machinery with moving parts and vehicles
- Exposure to all seasons of weather, as well as slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs
