About us
SPI is an established manufacturing distributor and sub-contractor working in the school construction industry in Maryland and Virginia.
We are located in a new office and warehouse building located in Frederick, Md. Our work space includes modern spaces with sit-stand desks for all employees.
We have a relaxed, but professional work atmosphere. Our dress is casual, but our work day is serious and demanding.
We are a very busy and successful commercial subcontracting firm located in Frederick. We are seeking an assistant project manager with some experience in the commercial construction industry to join our company. Applicants should be familiar with construction-specific software, such as Blue Beam, Procore, and Spectrum.
In addition:
- The candidate should have a college degree, or some college plus direct experience in commercial project management.
- To be considered for an interview for this position, you must provide your salary history and salary requirements as well as a list of the construction-specific software you have utilized in your past work experience.
- This is a very demanding position, and a candidate must be adept in the skills of logic, mathematics, and critical thinking. The candidate must also be extremely well organized, and self-motivated to meet multiple construction schedule deadlines.
- Responsibilities for each of our assistant project managers includes working under the senior project manager who will oversee your work on multiple construction projects from the submittal process through the timely release of material for production and installation. The duration time for a project can range from a couple of months to two years.
- Our project management team works with many different general contractors and construction managers on both new and phased renovation projects, so the candidate must be able to multi-task on several projects throughout each day.
- This is a full-time position; standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, but additional hours may be required as needed to meet deadline requirements, especially during our very busy spring and summer season.
