Overview:

The Spiro brand marketing team leads and develops the agency’s vision, messaging, look/feel, and brand campaigns. We are a high-functioning team that take our work seriously, but don’t take ourselves too seriously and try to have fun with the work we do.  Our Content & Community Manager will work in collaboration with our brand marketing team to be a driving force of innovation and creativity in developing concepts and storytelling, campaign assets, content creation, social media community growth, and overall elevating our brand in the industry. 

 

This position reports to our Director, Thought Leadership & Innovation, while working closely with our cross-functional teams to ideate and produce content utilizing and reinforcing our brand guidelines. They will receive direction and oversight from the Director but are expected to have the strategic ability and experience to produce work that may need to be edited, but not completely overhauled.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Spiro’s content management and creation: Writing, editing, developing the ideas and storytelling, and managing process through completion
  • Social media & community management: Posting, understanding platforms & analytics, growing conversations within & beyond our social community, boosting engagement, etc.
  • Manage and execute social content calendars that support the destination’s social growth strategy and provide a consistent brand voice
  • Facilitate community management across all social channels (answering direct messages and comments daily across social channels)
  • Collaborate with other members of our marketing team to ensure that all content is on target and optimized for specific audiences
  • Create brand centric impact content across various digital channels as well as internal / external meeting needs
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Director and agencies to ensure there is a cohesive digital campaign with the company’s paid and organic social media strategy
  • Become ingrained in the Spiro brand guidelines, brand marketing platform, and campaigns to act as an extension of the brand marketing and creative team when developing and reviewing assets
  • Monitor competitive activity and develop brand competitive social audits
  • Monitor social trends to inform social content and engagement opportunities
  • Manage multiple projects and allocate, organize and plan resources to meet agreed delivery dates
  • Proactively manage and communicate with managers, cross-functional team, internal departments, and external vendors for all owned and assigned projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years in professional communications, journalism, community management or content creation experience; creative storytelling in a business setting is a plus
  • Proven working experience in social media marketing and community management and proven growth
  • Proven dexterity with written language: You can translate ideas and complex research into attractive, precise copy that engages and informs your audience. You are comfortable pivoting between topics and writing for different platforms (news media, website, social media, press releases, whitepapers), while still maintaining a consistent brand voice & tone
  • Problem solving and agility: You thrive in an environment where there is no playbook for success. You can adapt to different tasks and shift priorities as needed. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are energized by doing work that hasn’t been done before.
  • Solid knowledge of social media platforms and social media management platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Sprout Social)
  • Proficient in marketing research and analysis
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, and experience with project management platforms such as Airtable and Monday, a plus
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to comfortably articulate oneself to decision makers at a variety of levels
  • Strong project and time management skills as well as attention to detail
  • Proactive team player who is energized and inspired by team environments and understands the importance of relationship building (internal and external) and meeting goals for overall success of the department and company
  • Solutions-oriented thinker with the ability to manage projects and expectations of internal and external clients and team members
  • Knowledge of the events and experiences industry is beneficial
