Riding Warehouse California - Marketing Communications Specialist & Affiliate Coordinator
Starting at $20/hr DOE. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, offered in our San Luis Obispo, CA location.
Purpose of Position:
- Coordinate the Social Media activities for Riding Warehouse.
- Coordinate content from and act as liaison for affiliates, brand ambassadors and sponsored riders
- Assist with production of content and merchandising
Engage and Grow our RDW Social Media Following
- Post 1-2x a day on Facebook and Instagram
- Create engaging, high quality content tailored for each platform
- Work with customers, team riders, and affiliates to create user generated content
- Coordinate paid social campaigns within allotted digital marketing budget
- Coordinate with vendors, affiliates, and influencers for weekly giveaways
- Respond to comments and messages on all platforms
- Regularly post Instagram stories
- Implement creative tactics to increase engagement and followers
- Work with vendors & buyers on product centered content / promotions
- Analyze and measure outcome of campaigns, looping in vendors if necessary
- Support promotions and sales as assigned.
Affiliate, Brand Ambassador, Sponsored Rider, Event Donations Liaison
- Seek and acquire relevant affiliates from websites, blogs and charities; seek and acquire sponsored riders/brand ambassadors as communicated with Buyers and other crew members within the rider’s discipline
- Maintain yearly donations and relationships for events deemed beneficial to the Riding Warehouse brand
- Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with affiliates via periodic communication and product offerings
- Evaluate affiliate ad responses and sponsored rider grading system to ensure adequate ROI
- Work with Web/Marketing team to coordinate and collect content from sponsored riders, brand ambassadors, etc. for marketing efforts
Web Content - Articles/Blogs
- Work with Web Content/Marketing team to plan and prioritize content topics
- Write compelling articles which target a specific objective (SEO, LC, Transaction, etc.)
- Evaluate/measure the performance of the article and determine if additional action is required to meet content objectives.
Requirements
- First-hand experience caring for, riding or training horses.
- Communicate clearly and professionally when speaking and writing.
- Negotiate and interact with business partners in a professional and tactical manner.
- Solve problems when they arise, using big-picture awareness and available resources.
- Operate SalesMaker and other necessary software applications with consistent accuracy.
- Communicate effectively, encourage others, and behave professionally.
- Understand and follow written and verbal directions.
- Take direction well and learn in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with standing and/or sitting for prolonged
periods of time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers and telephones.
