What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aftercare Teacher position at Spring Education Group?
The Assistant Teacher and Aftercare Teacher provide essential logistical support to L’Etoile students and staff. They supervise students from preschool to grade 5. They work closely with the lead teachers and administrative staff to support the goals of the school. We are looking for Assistant Teachers and Aftercare Teachers who like to work with children and to partner with members of our school community to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
Aftercare Teachers at L’Etoile:
Provide a safe a structured environment for students remaining on campus from Monday - Friday 3 PM - 6 PM
Facilitate a quiet homework time and help students as needed (elementary only)
Engage students in games and play
Communicate regularly with administrators and with parents
Tidy up classroom and community space and sanitize tables at the end of each day
Attend orientations, training sessions, and monthly check-in meetings with the administration
Other related duties as needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate:
Is a flexible, organized, and independent team player
Has strong interpersonal skills
Has prior experience working in a school environment or with children
Is fluent in English, with knowledge and understanding of the French language and culture a plus
Is willing to learn and implement positive behavioral management techniques
Is dependable and on-time
Has basic computer skills, with use of Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets a plus

This position requires onsite presence at L’Etoile French Immersion School
Assistant Teacher must obtain and maintain current Office of Childcare certifications including Central Background Registry, Food Handler, CPR/First Aid
