Spring River Mental Health & Wellness, Inc. is an outpatient community mental health center located in Cherokee County, KS with offices in Riverton and Columbus. Primary office for this position is located in Riverton, KS.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Behavioral Health RN, you will provide specialized care and support to patients with mental health disorders that are receiving outpatient psychiatric services.
Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Primary Duties:
1. Assessment of patients and monitoring of vitals and health measures prior to psychiatric appointments.
2. Direct nursing support for medication management program and nurse practitioner staff.
3. Central point of contact for psychiatric needs and coordination of care among multi-disciplinary teams.
4. To assist in patient education regarding medication regimen, prescribed medications, and other co-occurring health conditions.
5. Perform injections, as prescribed.
6. Management of patient medication refills in conjunction with APRN/PMHNP.
7. Complete lab draws, as ordered, and monitoring of lab supplies and reordering, as needed.
8. Care coordination to obtain necessary medical records from external providers.
9. Nursing support for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program.
10. Assist in the maintenance and development of the Patient Assistance Program.
11. Entry of service notes in the EHR in accordance with documentation standards and timelines.
12. Coordination of care with pharmacies for refills and serve as the point of contact for pharmaceutical sales representatives providing on-site education for professional staff.
13. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, or designee.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong patient care skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care to individuals with mental health disorders.
- Understanding of psychiatric disorders and knowledge of psychiatric medications and their effects.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to provide culturally competent care.
Qualifications:
1. 21 years of age or older and valid RN license in KS or eligible for KS license.
2. BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Completion of background checks and drug screening required.
4. Experience in the mental health field and working knowledge of psychoactive medications strongly preferred.
