Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, this position will work collaboratively with the Behavioral Intervention Team, Human Resources and Mental Health Support services to implement the initiatives as outlined in the grant. Specifically, this position will coordinate professional development and training opportunities for faculty, students and staff related to the Behavioral and Mental Health Grant.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, coordinate, facilitate and market training and workshops for grant related behavioral and mental health topics for faculty, staff and students with a focus on professional and self-development relating to DEI, LGBTQ, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Track attendance at trainings workshops; complete necessary forms for data collection and potential payments.
  • Provide equity-minded supportive programs in fostering practices with an attention to addressing the needs of underserved and diverse populations.
  • Manage and maintain a training schedule of events and assessment tools for data informed planning.
  • Arrange meetings with campus constituents to support the grant outcomes and initiatives
  • Support the review, update and distribution of Behavioral Intervention Team resources.
  • Work with academic department leads to increase accessibility and engagement for services available to students.
  • Create and deliver communication tools for events and programs.
  • Work with campus partners, Behavioral Intervention Team, Human Resources and Mental Health Support services and Vice President of Student Affairs to evaluate and enhance our mental health and supportive services as requested.
  • Initialize conversations, contracts and payments for services related to training and programs.
  • Collect and report data in supporting initiatives in enhancement of mental health delivery of services and programming.
  • Serve as a contact for an online counseling and support platform, including timely marketing implementation, and monitoring usage.
  • Maintain grant budget documentation, coordinate travel, process purchase requisitions, process and complete business related paperwork for contracts and payments.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those listed above which do not alter the basic level of the position.

Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree required in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology or Social Work with at least 5 years' experience, preferably in a college setting or community agency. Experience should include project management, programming and implementation and organizational development.
  • Experience in working with a team and fostering collaboration.
  • Knowledge of college mental health trends, best practices, and challenges through an equity lens.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and initiatives.
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex psychological issues sensitively and openly.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, and with students and prospective students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experiences.
  • Flexible work schedule to meet student requests and other training needs.

Additional Information:


Salary: $40/hour

Position Classification: Part-time, non-benefitted

Funding Source: Behavioral and Mental Health Grant funded through June 30, 2023

Work Schedule: 15 hours per week (Monday - Friday). Requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as demand dictates.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Works in an office setting. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The individual needs to move about inside the office to access office machinery. Constantly operates a computer and other equipment i.e. copier. This person frequently communicates with students, faculty and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.

All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Springfield Technical Community College is not sponsoring H1B Visa.
