Description
Job Purpose:
Reports directly to the Team Leader /Supervisor. Responsible for stage and precise-cut large variety of natural shade materials in preparation for assembly within established standards for quality and timeliness.
- Select material off cart, following set procedures and established priority guidelines.
- Make determination as to any special adjustments that might need to be made.
- Verify style, measurements, and other considerations against work ticket for accuracy and assembling instructions.
- Measure and mark material to correct dimensions.
- Use various sewing machine, ability to change needles, threads to sew material to size; and other basic maintenance of the machine.
- Inspect material – quality tests, visual test, function/performance test (width, color, flaws in materials, function, etc.).
- Make necessary adjustments and re-inspect.
- Complete productivity paperwork related to awning assembly.
- Follow established procedures to maintain work environment in a neat and orderly condition.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and tools. Interact with Toolroom and Maintenance Departments on equipment and tool repair and development of new equipment and tools.
- Follow safety policies and procedures. Attend regularly-scheduled safety meetings.
- Attend daily huddles and other meetings to ensure smooth flow of communication.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- 6 Months previous manufacturing experience
- Preferred Speak, Read & Write English and Spanish
- Perform Basic Mathematics
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Must be organized, detailed oriented

- Must be able to work assigned overtime
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, have good organizational skills, and able to prioritize
