Position Details
- Support the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN.
- Supervise and maintain patient safety
- Ensure that the schedule/program is delivered consistently.
- Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and guests.
- Track any behavioral changes in patients
- Chart patient observations following prescribed procedures and standards
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient treatment programs
- Intervene when patients become dangerous to themselves or others by performing nonviolent crisis interventions.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records
- Transport patients around facility to activities as needed
- Assist in the admittance and discharge of patient and their belongings
- Perform initial patient evaluations to determine treatment priorities, such as taking vital signs, weight, and other tests as needed
- Communicating with staff, patients and their family members as needed
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School diploma
- Driver’s License with a favorable Motor Vehicle Report
- Proof of Insurance
- CPR and CPI Certification within 30 day of employment
Experience:
- Experience working an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility preferred.
- Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
Previous behavioral health experience or currently in a psychology or counseling program Preferred
