Mental Health Tech - Swing Shift

3-11pm

Position Details

• Support the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN.
• Supervise and maintain patient safety
• Ensure that the schedule/program is delivered consistently.
• Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and guests.
• Track any behavioral changes in patients 
• Chart patient observations following prescribed procedures and standards 
• Participate in the development and implementation of patient treatment programs 
• Intervene when patients become dangerous to themselves or others by performing nonviolent crisis interventions.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records 
• Transport patients around facility to activities as needed 
• Assist in the admittance and discharge of patient and their belongings 
• Perform initial patient evaluations to determine treatment priorities, such as taking vital signs, weight, and other tests as needed 
• Communicating with staff, patients and their family members as needed 

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High School diploma
• Driver’s License with a favorable Motor Vehicle Report
• Proof of Insurance
• CPR and CPI Certification within 30 day of employment

Experience:

• Experience working an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility preferred.
• Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.

• Previous behavioral health experience or currently in a psychology or counseling program Preferred
