Description The Fluid Power Systems Drafter at Spudnik Equipment Company will support the hydraulic engineering and assembly teams by creating and maintaining both CAD models and drawings of hydraulic assemblies used on a variety of Spudnik equipment. Teamwork and communication skills are critical as this position will be working closely with engineers, production control, and assembly personnel. Quality of workmanship, attention to detail and timelines, teamwork, and self-motivation are critical assets for this position. Tasks and projects typically include modeling, drafting, optimizing assemblies, and maintaining documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
- Utilize CAD to model and draft hydraulic assemblies and hose routing paths.
- Optimize assemblies and documentation for function, ease of assembly, and system maintenance.
- Minimize potential leak points in hydraulic systems.
- Maintain bill of material accuracy.
- Present solutions/options to the project team and/or upper management to find the best solution for Spudnik.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders effectively and professionally.
- Work closely with management members to keep a clear focus on company goals and objectives.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Promote the company’s core values of integrity, respect, commitment, quality, and innovation.
- Work in a team environment with little or no supervision.
- Fill in during team member absences.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in CAD software for modeling and drafting hydraulic systems.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to present technical solutions clearly and professionally.
- Experience in hydraulic systems preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TYPICALLY OPERATED:
- Basic clerical machines including computer, printer, telephone, etc.
- CAD software and other machines or equipment specific to departmental needs.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium work involving:
- Climbing, handling, talking, repetitive motion
- Crouching, walking, stooping, pushing
- Pulling, lifting, kneeling, grasping
- Visual acuity
TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and temperature extremes. May have temperature changes due to working inside a shop. Noise levels may require shouting to be heard. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and working on scaffolding and high places. Potential exposure to respiratory or skin irritants such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. There is also potential exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
