POSITION:                Electronics Technicion

LOCATION:               Blackfoot, ID

Job Summary

The Technician will assist in the construction, repair, and installation of electronic control systems for agricultural equipment produced by Spudnik Equipment Company.  Teamwork and customer service skills are important as Technician will be expected to work directly and indirectly with customers, plant personnel, and engineers.  Quality of workmanship, attention to detail, and self-motivation are also important qualities for this position.  Tasks and projects will include component assembly, repair, installation, testing, and production support.  This position also includes assisting engineers with design documentation for production and service departments.  Technician must be able to work with their hands outdoors as well as capable of working in an office environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
 

  • Understand and apply electronic design principles in the following areas:
    • Circuit analysis and troubleshooting;
    • Interpretation of schematics and printed circuit board design documentation
    • System level assembly including, sensors/actuators, wiring harnesses, enclosures, user interfaces, and power supplies
  • Properly utilize equipment to test, adjust, modify, and repair machinery under construction or in the field;
  • Thoroughly and accurately document electronic assembly designs including schematics, prints, diagrams, and bills of material;
  • Effectively employ time management and organizational skills for efficient project management;
  • Successfully communicate with engineers, fabricators, and customers effectively and professionally.

  • Work in a team environment with little or no supervision;
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment;
  • Fill in during team member absences;

Qualifications

  • Completion of (or current enrollment in) either an accredited Electronics Technology certificate or diploma or Electrical Engineering Technology degree program;
  • Demonstrated drive to learn and progress quickly to become familiar with all departmental processes and requirements;  
  • Experience with computer-aided design, simulation programs, schematic capture programs and experience with ‘C’ compilers is preferred but not required;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively from verbal and written instructions
  • Good safety practices and knowledge of safe working conditions.

 

Machines Typically Operated

  • Office machines such as computer, copier, fax machine, printer, digital camera;
  • Electrical/electronic assembly, repair, and test equipment;
  • Other machines and equipment specific to departmental or facility needs.

 

Typical Physical requirements

Light to Medium work involving:

  • Visual Acuity

 

Typical Environmental Conditions

Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and temperature extremes.  May have temperature changes due to working inside a shop.  At times noise is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.  Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places.  One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin:   Fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation.  There is air and or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
