SRI's Center for Advanced Imaging based in Princeton, NJ, is seeking an innovative, highly motivated individual to join us in the development of state-of-the-art hardware. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with multidisciplinary group dedicated to the development of custom image sensor devices, modules, and systems for numerous commercial, spacecraft, and government applications. Specifically, development of cameras for applications such as low light imaging, space base imagers, and LiDAR cameras.
Responsibilities
- HW design including schematic capture and simulation of detailed design solutions that involve FPGA, linear and mixed (DAC/ADC) circuitry, power supplies and other miscellaneous circuitry. This includes high speed digital interfaces (1GHz ) and high speed SERDES interfaces (>1.5 GHz).
- Develop and document HW interconnect solutions for complex systems of COTS and custom design products.
- Design and develop HW test procedures and quality/test requirements.
- Work closely with FPGA/ASIC developers
- Set up laboratory equipment and experiments as needed to accurately measure performance of HW designs, develop accurate and reliable tests methods, systems, and procedures across R&D, prototype, and production HW platforms, and accurately and concisely present characterization results to colleagues, designers, and managers.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering/Electronic Technology or a related field, Masters’ degree a plus
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Due to government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit design with emphasis on high-speed digital and low noise linear circuits
- Experience with Orcad Schematic Capture and PADS Layout and/or Altium
- Experience with Visio
- Familiarity with common test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, etc.
- Analysis and laboratory automation experience, including development experience with automation and analysis tools such as LabView
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with Xilinx, Altera, and Lattice
- Experience with FPGAs and power conditioning
- Knowledge of Python, Perl or other SW languages
- Design for low power
- Experience with Matlab and ImageJ
- Experience with CM tools like Omnify (PLM) and SVN (Rev Control)
- Video and imaging application experience
