Tax Accountant

The Tax Accountant will be responsible for sales and use tax compliance, reporting, analytics, research, and other various non-compliance related tasks. This position is a key liaison between the tax department and other corporate departments, as well as SRS’s field operations. The Tax Accountant reports directly to the Indirect Tax Manager. Job Responsibilities: Accurate and timely preparation and review of State and Local sales, use, transaction tax, business & occupation, OH Commercial Activity, NV Commerce, Enterprise Zones and other returns for multiple states and legal entities. Research technical tax issues and clearly document conclusions Assist with resolution of sales and use tax notices, including tracking and documenting status Register new branches for sales & use tax and other business licenses Research and document taxability of SRS purchases and accrue use tax where applicable. Research tax rate and taxability questions and respond to field with recommendations. Assist with sales and use tax audit defense, including providing supporting documentation, researching issues, preparing responses, etc. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to state laws, identifying opportunities and adverse consequences. Prepare various management reports and reconciliations Review economic and physical presence nexus requirements Develop and maintain working relationships with operating management, accounting and finance team and other business units on tax issues Requirements: General accounting knowledge High performer with problem solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong Excel skills with the ability to use formulas, functions and pivot tables 1 - 3 years of experience in sales and use tax compliance and research Ability to work well with a team Ability to successfully work remotely Ability to work well in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
