Hedge Fund Accounting - Associate Manager - Hybrid

Job Description The Associate Manager, in either our NYC or Union, NJ office, will lead a staff of US-based fund accountants and act as daily point of contact for our hedge fund clients. In addition, remotely manage a team of overseas-based fund accountants who have responsibility for daily P&L, weekly and monthly NAV’s, and financial statements. This a Hybrid role with limited time in the office. Provide coaching, training, and leadership as necessary to the fund accounting team as well as hands on review and ownership of complicated processes and deliverables Act as a subject matter expert for any escalated P&L and NAV issues either directly form client or with management team Act as escalation point and problem solver for the team, ensuring action plans are implemented in case of any service issues as well as properly escalate to VP and above the critical points for review. Contributing to internal project initiatives regarding new product development, testing, and implementation Established and drive strong relationships with clients and maintain regular client contact to ensure that satisfaction levels are high Develop culture of continuous efficiency improvements resulting in increased capacity Day-to-day interaction with other departments and counterparts to prevent/ resolve issues Produce MIS to monitor breaks and perform root cause analysis Drive enhancement projects for technology and operational processes Responsible for limited back office tasks expected to be overseen include but are not limited to reviewing Fund Docs (IMA, PPM, etc.), Understanding of complex fund structures (Master Feeder, SMA, FoF, etc.), Understanding of Hurdles and Gates, Prepare and review management fee, Review Incentive Fee, Overview of Journal Entries to Accounting GL, Review of Trial Balance and supporting schedules, Oversight of P&L Allocation to Investor and heavy involvement in Audit support Job Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Master’s degree in related area a strong plus Proven ability to manage client relations Solid Experience managing team members a plus CPA a strong plus 5 years experience in Accounting or Back Office Operations working for a Prime Broker, Administrator, Hedge Fund, Investment Advisor or Audit firm.
