Job Summary :
Performs a variety of tasks including equipment repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance and safety checks to keep the facility safe and in good working order.
Works regularly alongside more experienced personnel to develop skills and competency. Works independently on occasion.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements :
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting to replace lamps, ballasts, switches and receptacles. Check and replace fuses.
Assist more skilled employees replacing and wiring motors. Troubleshoot and repairs patient beds or low voltage electric systems.
Assist with fire alarm system testing an maintenance.
Develops basic knowledge and troubleshooting of plumbing to : replace sink faucets; repair faucet leaks; replace aerators and vacuum breakers;
repair, replace and service toilet and urinal flush meters. Clears blocked drains using a cabling machine; Performs minor water line connection repairs such as compression joints, screwed fittings, etc.
- Develops basic knowledge and troubleshooting of heating, cooling and ventilation systems to : maintain and service digital and pneumatic thermostat operations;
- change air filters; and using building automation systems to troubleshoot HVAC performance issues; understand and troubleshoot air pressure relationships and air balancing;
troubleshoot refrigeration systems and appliance malfunctions.
- Enters work orders, documents tasks and closes work orders in the electronic record keeping system.
- Performs research to find products and solutions to problems.
- Assists with grounds and / or snow removal as needed.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use / data entry.
- Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot / leg and hand / arm movements.
- Occasional lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Rare use of smell to detect / recognize odors.
- Rare driving.
