The General Ledger Accounting Manager will be responsible for several areas within the General Ledger function. The manager will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc accounting support functions. This position reports directly to the Accounting Director and will be located at the SSP America Support Center in Ashburn, VA with a Hybrid work model.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage and perform traditional general accounting functions such as Balance Sheet reconciliations, journal entry review and processing, support with month end close, financial statement analysis and other general functions

Review financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts

Preparing and reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations

Reviewing Bank Reconciliations

Assist with the interim and annual audit

Responsible for the development of policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. of major importance

Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization

Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization

Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal effect or minor external effect

Work closely with IT staff and management to attain accurate and necessary reporting from systems

Optimize the use of systems to produce value-added financial reports/information

Assist with month end close: revenue recognition, preparation of revenue and expenses, and GL review

Provide timely and accurate financial analytical support and information to the Controller and Director of Operations as regularly scheduled and in response to ad hoc requests

Support project reviews and ongoing audits with accurate financial data and value-added financial analyses

Lead Ad Hoc projects and work as part of cross-functional team

Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor
