What are the responsibilities and job description for the IEP Education Coordinator position at St. Aloysius?
The IEP Education Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the Special Education IEP team process for the St. Al’s school population from admissions through transitions. They will ensure that St. Aloysius operates in compliance with all state and federal regulations, special education data is collected and updated in a manner that meets all LEA representative compliance expectations.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Education preferred, would consider Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Special Education.
- Licensure/Special Education certification, Intervention Specialist (K-12), Mild/Moderate preferred or relevant certification/licensure.
- Minimum 3 years Special Education teaching experience required.
Role Expectations:
- Require the handling of confidential information and conducts on-going face to face and phone contact with students and guardians, foster parents, birth parents, ancillary service providers, school district representatives, therapists, psychiatrists, and custodial agencies.
- Act as a liaison with other district staff, serving as a resource of information regarding special education programs and services; and ensuring that procedures are appropriate in relation to policies required by state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Participates in the development of all Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA).
- Participates and facilitates Manifestation Determination Review.
- Works with teachers and related service providers on writing collaborative goals for the IEP.
- Reviews all evaluation components, IEP goals, and progress reports to make sure that they are of high quality, appropriate, and procedurally compliant.
- Oversees the training and accurate input of information into the IEP software program.
- Monitors the progress of each IEP student in reaching his or her IEP goals and objectives and reconvenes the team as necessary to make revisions.
- Trains and assists special education teachers on special education procedures, data collection, forms, and compliance requirements.
- Work with school district coordinators to complete change of placement and admissions to St. Al’s, aiding and coordinating the Educational Plan of the child while enrolled in the St. Aloysius Educational Center.
- Provide technical assistance (i.e. assisting with school transfers and enrollments), emotional support and assistance in conjunction with other agencies.
- Ensure timely follow up of concerns and requests for information.
- Assist students/caregiver in accessing necessary community resources.
- Keeps accurate records of students’ admission and discharge dates and submits monthly billing to finance department.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion (i.e. social security reports, signatures for Education Plans etc.).
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of agency policies and procedures.
