The Sponsored Programs, Research and External Engagement (SPREE) program at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Grant Management Specialist position.
SPREE advances St. Kate’s mission by promoting research and scholarship; knowledge dissemination; academic program innovation; and student scholarship, loan, internship, and research opportunities. SPREE serves as the administrative unit accountable for supporting faculty, staff, and students in readying research and innovation projects, acquiring extramural funding, and appropriately administering approximately $28 million in active sponsored projects. The Grant Management Specialist position supports post award processes and activities, assisting the university community with budget and compliance administration of sponsored programs. This position provides critical administrative duties to strengthen the SPREE infrastructure.

The Grant Management Specialist position supports post award processes and activities, assisting the university community with budget and compliance administration of sponsored programs. Responsibilities:
- Set-up and coordinate funds with the Business Office for expense management invoicing/draw-down, and reporting following SPREE policies and procedures.
- Monitor grant portfolio award and project progress and compliance.
- Support completion and submission of required reporting to funding agencies.
- Review monthly credit cards.
- Close out awards following SPREE policies and procedures including timely and accurate final reporting, close-out check list, and close-out meeting.
- Track and document Participant Incentives.
- Monitor email and assign query responses.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training via workshops, individual meetings and departmental meetings.
- Educate faculty and staff on budget and sponsored program management.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree.
- Three (3) years of accounting, financial analysis, post-award/grant management, or project management experience.
- Ability to fulfill scope of multiple projects on time, within budget and with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets.
- Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in Excel.
- Experience working with diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in a higher education or academic setting, specifically sponsored programs administration or finance.
- Experience managing federal grants.
- Experience interpreting and applying regulations.
