St. Francis High School is looking for a Science Teacher in the area of Earth Science to join our school.
The position:
SFHS is seeking a Earth Science teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Sections include general Earth Science. The successful candidate will have a student-centered approach to teaching, maintain reflective teaching practice, be current with pedagogy and classroom technology, and bring a passion to inspire young men in science.
Candidates must look to be an active member of the science department, bring a strong desire toward collaboration with colleagues and a commitment to an all-boys environment. Full-time teaching typically includes serving as an advisor in our student housing system and active engagement with our extra-curricular programs throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Be present for school days between 7:55am - 2:45pm.
- Provide instruction to students by using a variety of teaching methods (courses, units etc).
- Maintain a safe environment for students by keeping the classroom clean and organized.
- Be able to educate students according to any IEP/504 accommodations.
- Communicate with parents and provide them with information about their son’s performance and classroom behavior.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support the school in its activities.
- Be active in at least 1 extra curricular sport or club.
Skills & Qualifications Required Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required, MA preferred.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
