St. James Lutheran Early Education Center is seeking a qualified and energetic Christian Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. We have a dedicated, stable staff with low teacher turnover. As an early childhood/ preschool teacher you must have a great love and patience for children, and the qualifications needed to teach them effectively including knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods. This is a full-time year-round position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative and engaging lessons and activities for preschool aged children that align with MN state standards and the school’s mission and philosophy.
- Ability to utilize a variety of educational techniques to promote a love of learning.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment while promoting a love of God and others.
- Observe each child to help them improve their social/emotional development and build selfesteem.
- Good communication skills with parents and other staff members.
- Observe and document children’s progress and development.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
- Help Maintain a clean center environment consistent with health and safety standards.
- Ability to prepare and serve lunch.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, which may include opening or closing the center.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, special events and staff meetings
Skills
- Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher. (At least 1 year preferred)
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Familiarity with MN Rule 3 Licensing regulations.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Friendly, responsible, and reliable.
- Certification in child CPR and First Aid
- Bachelor's Degree or other relevant education qualifications that meet MN Rule 3 requirements or possess a current CDA.
