St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for the Cultural Events Division. Offices are located at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre adjacent to picturesque Anastasia State Park.

The St. Johns County Cultural Events Division (CED) is responsible for scheduling and presenting all events occurring at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Both venues have been recognized internationally at top-notch performing arts spaces, with the St. Augustine Amphitheatre consistently ranking in the Top 10 Amphitheaters Worldwide by Pollstar Magazine. Additionally, the CED produces the annual Sing Out Loud Music Festival and various other community events and festivals within St. Johns County. The CED is renowned for its artist and patron service, its commitment to collaborating with local organizations to enhance economic growth within the community and its accessibility as a public space for all to enjoy.

The newly selected Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the production of event venues, community festivals and other special events and volunteer coordination for the Cultural Events Division.
The ideal Volunteer Coordinator candidate must possess St. Johns County’s core values of compassion, innovation, and trustworthiness and must work well in a collaborative team environment. Some of the specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Executes approved production contracts, in accordance with all terms established therein, including, but not limited to coordinating volunteer schedules and assisting production coordinator as needed with facilitating crew arrival and break schedules, security detail and crowd control.
- Assists with the coordination of event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support and pre and post event evaluations.
- For the front-of-house activities, acts as additional point of contact for volunteers, artists, managers, outside vendors, community partners, union or labor negotiators, among others.
- Resolves customer complaints, problems and requests.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Maintains a full-time presence on the job.
Candidates for the Volunteer Coordinator are encouraged to apply if they meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Completion of a high school degree with a minimum of three years in an event planning or support related capacity and five to ten years in progressively responsible in an event or volunteer coordination role.
- Entertainment industry experience preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills in order to serve others.
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
- Must be able to operate a computer and job related software.
