Purpose: The job of Campus Supervisor is to assist with the overall safety and security of the campus. Duties include, but are not limited to: monitoring of entrances and exits, hallways, and grounds; assisting with visitor screening, greeting, and directing visitors; assisting with emergency management and building safety; responding to inquiries from staff, the public, parents, students, etc. by providing requested information and/or referral to other parties.
Essential Job Functions:
- Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
- Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
- Patrol grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
- Supervise students before, during, and after school to assure good order, discipline, and adherence to school rules.
- Make necessary referrals to appropriate administrators for students exhibiting inappropriate behavior.
- Defuse volatile situations and refer to administration as directed.
- Greet visitors in the building (e.g. visitors, parents, students, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of responding to inquiries and/or directing individuals to appropriate location in accordance with established building security procedures.
- Serve as a contact person for fire, tornado and emergency alarms (e.g. lock down, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment.
- Monitor building entrances, exits, hallways, and grounds to prevent the presence of unauthorized persons on campus and prevent the unauthorized leaving of campus by students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the safety and security of the building and the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
