St. Jude is hiring a pasty baker to performs a variety of baking duties. Prepares breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, doughnuts, biscuits, and other pastries, including icings and frostings, according to established recipes. Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities. Shapes dough for cookies, pies, and fancy pastries either by hand or by using dough rollers and cookie cutters. Inspects product for quality during and after baking and makes adjustments to processes as required. Skillfully decorates cakes for catering and cafeteria special events. Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment. Completes production sheets and other records as required. May be required to prepare baked goods for special diets.
Minimum Education
- High School diploma or GED required. Related experience may be considered in lieu of education, with two (2) years of experience substituted per year of education.
Minimum Experience
- Three (3) years quantity production experience in a cafeteria or institutional setting required. Cake decorating experience required.
Other Credentials
- (LC: SERVSAFE) ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or another American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Food Handler Training Certificate Program required within 30 days of hire. Employee must maintain current certification during employment.
