St. Louis Presort is a commercial printing and mailing company looking to hire on an additional Data Processing and Print Services Technician.
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Job Summary:
The data processing and print services technician will integrate customer data for processing in a print production environment. They will perform data conversion, cleansing, mapping variable data, and validation to prepare for mail production. Operates high volume duplicating equipment, provide copier maintenance, performs QC and final check on all print jobs, maintains documents on network.
Essential Functions:
- Processing mail lists through postal software for delivery point and NCOA validation
- Merging, purging, de-duping, and correcting addresses in mail lists
- Providing scrubbed mailing lists to account managers and clients
- Preparing postage estimates for clients using information provided by account managers
- Converting files from various client-provided formats to software compatible formats
- Updating and testing new versions of mailer software
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify data needs and design solutions to convert data and support workflows.
- Comply with client supplied business rules and internal standards. Apply security best practices when working with client data.
- Operate high speed, high volume digital publishing printers using printer software (Printshop Mail and Planet Press) to produce specialized type of printing e.g., large paper printing, poster copying, manual/handbook sized printing and maintaining files for each work order submitted.
- Ability to read work orders, manipulate files and adjust the image quality, font size, paper type, etc.
- Inform account managers of estimated completion time, when unclear of instructions, when there is a delay in service or when a specific service cannot be provided. Work with account managers to resolve issues to client’s satisfaction.
- Create and maintain folders and directories for print orders on the network drive.
- Ensure that the output is quality checked and accurately meet the instructions as submitted.
- Responsible for minor maintenance of reproduction equipment by solving paper jams, placing service calls and conduct routine cleaning.
- Monitor inventory of print supplies and toners.
- Assist in keeping the print center neat and professional looking.

- Handle special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with data conversion concepts; gathering, analyzing, documenting data requirements.
- Prior knowledge BCC software is helpful but not required.
- Advanced skill in the use of Access and Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Excel
- High level of quality assurance and great attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with print manufacturing processes and machines, Postal Pre-Sort and Data Hygiene toolsets.
- Ability to manage personnel resources.
- Passion for collecting, correcting, and working with data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask and solve problems quickly
- Willingness to learn new tasks

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Or equivalent acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
- Prior knowledge of Printshop Mail and Planet Press software is helpful but not required.
