What are the responsibilities and job description for the OB Tech/HUC - Days, 0.9 FTE position at St Peters Hospital?
Performs duties in all areas of the Women & Childrens Unit. Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Sort, clean and inspect surgical instruments in accordance with standard procedures and techniques, prepare instruments for transport to sterile processing, handles medication under the supervision of the surgeon or nurse. Assists medical staff and nurses in vaginal deliveries including setting up instruments, equipment and supplies, and cleaning equipment and instruments. Performs nursing assistant duties including obtaining vital signs, height and weight measurements, assist patients with feeding, and other activities of daily living. Assist nursing staff as directed; preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
Provides indirect care in the department setting under the direction of the Charge Nurse. Transcribes orders from records, faxes to appropriate destination. Performs detailed and accurate assignments and compiles information to ensure accurate records.
