JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

JOB SUMMARY:

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, administration and compliance of employee benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending, Health Savings Account (HSA), life insurance, retirement plans, wellness, etc.). Maintains advanced knowledge of benefit programs and associated policies and procedures. Provides education, technical assistance, and an exceptional level of customer service to all colleagues and stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field and three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration or equivalent combination of relevant experience. Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.

Commitment to exemplary customer service philosophy, consultative approach to problem solving, successfully maintain high ethical standards, and the ability to develop trusting professional relationships. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong presentation skills in group and individual settings. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Computer proficiency and advanced technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases. Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs and benefits contract language.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with self-funded benefit programs strongly preferred. Benefits certification preferred (i.e. CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting up to 20 pounds is required.

Frequently (34%-66%) - NONE
Occasionally (1%-33%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching
