JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: 38 Work Shift: Nights 7on/ 7 off JOB SUMMARY: Receives and prepares specimens according to standard protocol and procedures. Performs a variety of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory procedures according to section requirements and protocols. Performs quality control procedures required for test performance. Calibrates, maintains and monitors laboratory equipment. Works under general supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision making. Maintains confidentiality of patient related information. Complies with organization’s C.A.R.E.S. standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree and National Board Certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or ASCP categorical certification in specialty area. Requires a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience. Current or Temporary Louisiana License as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Specialist (CLS-S). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
