CNO Software Engineer – Java

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team in Hanover, MD. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ability to demonstrate solid knowledge of Java 8 or higher. Performing system and subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, and subsystem and system integration and tests for a system. Researching requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues. Providing technical guidance to lower level software engineers. Designing ideas for new capabilities or recommendations for improvements to existing capabilities. Demonstrating knowledge of multiple software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, TDD, Waterfall). Communicating status with leadership and customers. Contributing to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Providing solutions to a variety of complex technical problems. Determining computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming. Ensuring software standards are met. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or University 7 years of programming required (with a Bachelor's degree) or, in lieu of a degree, 11 years of programming experience Experience with build environments such as Gradle or Maven Developing Software to suit customer requirements Debugging and troubleshooting software Software design and architecture Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design Familiarity with Software Version Control Knowledge of SQL, preferably Oracle Knowledge of agile software development methodology Knowledge of XML or XSLT Preferred Qualifications: Spring Cloud Spring Boot Kafka Subversion/GIT experience Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Bamboo, Crucible) Experience using VMWare, preferably ESX Experience with Linux and Windows operating system Experience with bash and/or PowerShell scripting Security Clearance Requirements: Active and current TS/SCI with Polygraph Physical Requirements: Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/walking/talking and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another (at customer site). Communicating with others to exchange information and frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Working with computers.
