What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Staffmark Group?
The Maintenance Mechanic - Facilities performs maintenance service and repairs in support of the company
as a whole with an emphasis on general facilities maintenance, vehicle maintenance, grounds keeping,
general janitorial activities as needed, deliveries, pickups and other errands.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs proficiently in multiple types of general facilities maintenance work to include, but not limited
to vehicle servicing, plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, plastering, electrical, and grounds keeping.
2. Responsible for general errand running, including pickup and delivery of required materials and supplies
3. In collaboration with the Maintenance Mechanic – Equipment, organizes and maintains the Shop Supply
cage.
4. Performs general janitorial activities, as needed. Responsible for ensuring the Shop breakroom is clean
and orderly; daily Shop coffee preparation and clean up.
5. Responsible for ensuring that the facility and grounds are safe and free of potential hazards and debris.
Performs general grounds keeping including, but not limited to, lawn mowing, clean up, ice removal and
sprinkler system maintenance and repair.
6. Identifies and reports issues and challenges, relative to the facilities maintenance process to the
Operations Manager.
7. Implements necessary corrective measures to overcome maintenance obstacles, as appropriate to
ensure maintenance and repairs are achieved in the most cost effective manner.
8. Maintains needed supplies and reports to Operations Manager.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs, as directed, safety compliance and uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as needed,
and maintains a safe working environment.
2. Adheres to all company policies and procedures on a routine basis. Consistently reports to work as
scheduled and on time, avoiding unnecessary and unscheduled absences.
3. Responds promptly, sincerely, and respectfully to customers’ and coworkers’ needs, requests and
concerns via all communication forms using easily understood language.
4. Maintains positive working relationships as a team player through problem solving issues, speaking
positively about others, and listening attentively.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Incumbent must have basic oral and written communication proficiency; attention to detail and ability to
multi-task; possess basic organizational skills. Capacity to establish and maintain constructive business
relationships with internal and external customers, while maintaining integrity and confidentiality, is
required. Aptitude to research, analyze and successfully resolve a broad spectrum of issues. Incumbent
must be a positive team player, with the ability to manage project time constraints and handle multiple
projects at once. Must possess basic math skills, including fractions; demonstrated ability to accurately use
and read a tape measure is required. Must provide own basic tools. Must be knowledgeable and proficient
in operating Saws and Forklifts. Incumbent must have the ability to effectively work independently, as well
as under direct supervision. Must be able to read, write, and clearly speak and understand English.
