We are looking for some hard working, travel warriors to work on gas/steam turbines. The Travelling Gas Turbine Mechanic/Millwright Mechanic primarily responsible to perform mechanical duties safely and achieve the repair, installation, and maintenance of heavy rotating equipment in Power plants all over the country. The Turbine mechanic will travel to location (Airfare, car rental and daily per diem covered) work both independently and in a team environment, will work closely with Safety team and supervisor to complete these tasks.
Turbine mechanic responsibilities:
- The Turbine mechanic is able to read blueprints, follow layouts and technical documentation
- Disassemble, inspect, modify, perform alignment and re-assemble of Gas/Steam Turbines on: Siemens , GE, Mitsubishi and Westinghouse
- Install equipment and parts according to layout plans
- Must possess a strong desire to learn and be willing to take directions
- Good mechanical and technical skills required. Welding and Overhead Crane certificate are a plus
- The turbine mechanic must be able to travel all over the country and some overseas, passport is a plus (Airfare, car rental and daily per diem are covered by us)
- Ability to work 7 days a week for 12 hours a day, including holidays
- Projects last up to 3 weeks-must be able to stay until completion of each project.
- Our work season is September until the end of June/early July. You will not be working the last half of July and all of August. Great for summer vacation time!
- Flexible to work day/night shift
Requirements:
- Good mechanical and technical skills required.
- Experience with gas/steam turbine engines, millwright, boilermaker, diesel mechanic or wind turbines preferred. Can train right person if you have some solid relevant experience in other fields.
- OSHA 10 Certificate must be obtained by you prior to starting job
- Valid unexpired Driver's license
- The turbine mechanic must be able to fly/travel all over the country and some overseas, passport is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work 7 days a week for 12 hours a day including holidays
- Flexible to work day/night shift
- Drug test required
We offer competitive pay $22-$27 hr, per diem of $145 a day, all travel expenses such as airfare and car rental provided and 7/12 work week schedule.
Your safety is important to us! Basic safety and OSHA 10/ safety credentials are required. Any additional site safety credentials are a plus. Must practice safe working conditions.
