Hiring Full Time Production Lead.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:30a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Summary:
Under the supervision of the assigned Manager, the Lead assists in directing the daily activities on the floor and equipment. Focuses on achieving daily department goals required to meet and/or exceed operational requirements while maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates department activity for assigned area(s), ensuring that product is continuously handled, prepared/transferred, and or packaged in accordance with work schedules and standard operating procedures.
- Ensures the accurate utilization of associates based on the requirements of the day. Assigns and prioritizes work.
- Tracks performance of assigned work and ensures proper completion.
- Communicates work instructions to employees in designated area(s), in accordance with supervisory objectives.
- Participates in all the job tasks assigned to the workers to include but not limited to unboxing, sorting, bailing and transferring product as needed.
- Responds for proper execution of lock-out/tag-out procedures at all times, directly or through others
- In coordination with the assigned supervisor or manager, operates the WMS system to create reports, confirm product quantities and locations, move inventory, update inventory, etc.
- Creates / reviews work instructions, documenting the processes to complete the work, to insure consistency and positive results.
- Provides training and feedback to employees to ensure consistency and accuracy of processes.
- Communicates with other departments about status on completion of urgent orders and availability of product.
- Coordinates with maintenance department to ensure that equipment repair needs are timely met.
- Works with employees to track, attendance. Handles attendance issues, with supervisor’s knowledge, as necessary.
- Ensures that the work area is always clean and free of clutter or any safety hazards.
- Ensures that the following day’s tasks are planned for in advance.
- Adheres to Hampton’s policies and procedures, including, but not limited to safety and housekeeping standards.
- Follows instructions and adheres to the SOPs specific for each assigned area; responds to management direction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
While this position does not directly supervise any individuals, the incumbent is responsible for the productivity, quality and overall performance of the team and acts as a liaison between direct supervisor and the team.
Education and/or Experience:
- Some high school and no less than 2-3 years’ minimum experience in warehousing distribution center, and/or manufacturing environment related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift training/experience a plus.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before team members.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
