The Commissioner of Revenue Office is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of COR Business Systems Analyst. The ideal candidate will have experience working in project management, document management, databases, quality control of systems and enhancements, and ability to train and support team users.
The Commissioner of Revenue Business Systems Analyst performs intermediate professional work involving the analysis of departmental operating procedures, develops and maintains work plans for moderate to complex projects, and participates on project teams. The position maintains a high level of knowledge of the application system(s), multiple platforms and new technology to provide systems expertise and advice to project teams, users, and management. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. The position exercises supervision over Tax Analyst position and some technical functions.
There are two levels of this position classification in order to support growth and development and the full salary ranges for those levels are:
Systems Analyst I - $64,396.80 - $109,491.20
Systems Analyst II - $73,736.00 - $125,361.60
The hiring range for this position is $64,396.80 to $99,548.80 annually.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Work requires stooping, reaching, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm’s length, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Analyzes potential user procedures and/or problem areas and conducts feasibility studies for potential software applications and systems;
- Plans and conducts acceptance tests for all systems;
- Prepares reports on information collected;
- Produces and distributes a variety of statistical data and reports;
- Prepares flow charts and all required documentation;
- Creates, manages, and maintains related documentation;
- Supports On-premises and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications;
- Conducts systems analysis and maintains systems, performing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries of low to moderate complexity, elicitation of functional & non-functional requirements, production support, and KTLO tasks;
- Performs vendor analysis and comparison;
- Evaluates and implements vendor solutions, and interfaces with vendor tech support;
- Participates on projects for new applications, upgrades, new releases, and enhancements;
- Maintains a moderate level of knowledge of the application system(s), multiple platforms, and new technology;
- Provides user support;
- Provides guidance and training as needed;
- Serves as a liaison with other departments on data processing and software applications matters;
- Responds to emergency;
- Performs related tasks as required.
