Construction Estimator
Entry Level: $40,000 - $50,000, or more with framing experience
Position Requirements
· Possess basic math, communication, and computer skills
· Ability to read, analyze, and understand construction blueprints
· Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to manage time and complete bids in a timely manner
· Limit cell phone usage to minimize distraction of self and others
· Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
· Construction experience is preferred, but not required
· Ability to work 40 hours per week
Daily Tasks
· Review plans and specifications and identify conflicts, issues, and challenges
· Perform labor and material takeoffs using Planswift on-screen takeoff software
· Enter takeoff information into Timberline Estimating software
· Work in Microsoft Excel to further develop and double check takeoffs
· Draft quotes in Microsoft Word for presentation of bids to general contractors/construction managers
· Communicate with customers to address issues and/or conflicts within plans and specifications
· Enter information into Bid History to track the progress of bids
· Follow up on past quotes to gauge likelihood of securing projects
