Outcomes

• Purchasing and accurate recording of purchases for seeds and varieties. 
• Record-keeping for proper weights and invoicing.
• Manage sanitation to ensure organic integrity, food safety, and equipment maintenance, lot integrity

• Receive, clean, bag, palletize, warehouse, and inventory all types and varieties of seed that are delivered.
• Manage supplier selection and relations, purchase orders, and contract management.
• Collect and review documentation for GMO, specification, pesticides, etc. 
• Bag final product with correct lot number and other specific information. 
• Ensure proper weights per bag and follow stacking procedures on pallets. 
• Data entry for lot numbers, varieties, seed weights, bag inventory, and bills of lading. 
• Operate equipment including but not limited to Telehandler, forklift, air/screen cleaner, carter, indents, elevators, bag equipment, electronic scales, and gravity table.
• Employee management of up to three shifts of employees
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• This position has been identified as holding responsibility for food safety and quality of the company. This responsibility extends over all shifts.
• During absence, the following position serves as coverage to this position: Seed Cleaner Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum 3 years of experience in the seed industry. 
• Previous experience in seed industry desired.
• Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to handle the job will be considered.
• Prior knowledge of setup and calibration of equipment required to clean a variety of seeds.  Experience with the following a plus ryegrass, fescue, clover, squash, corn, amaranth, flax, dill, wheat and other species.
• Computer knowledge for Microsoft suite.
• Thorough knowledge of seeds and varieties to prevent cross-contamination. 
• Must obtain a Pesticide Applicator’s license within 6 months of hire date.
