About The Role:
Every day, tens of thousands of online retailers rely on ShipStation to solve the day-to-day challenges of managing orders and processing shipments. The trusted leader in shipping software since its founding in 2011, ShipStation helps online sellers scale their businesses and deliver exceptional customer experiences, through an intuitive SaaS platform, that allows them to efficiently ship orders, wherever they sell and however they deliver.
ShipStation provides a multi-channel, multi-carrier delivery management platform, offering the most integrations of any ecommerce solution, with more than 300 partnerships with leading ecommerce platforms, marketplaces, carriers and fulfilment services, including Australia Post, CouriersPlease, Aramex, Sendle, eBay, Amazon, Shopify and BigCommerce. ShipStation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Auctane, headquartered in Austin, Texas and has expanded into APAC and we are looking for an exceptional Brand Manager to join the rapidly expanding team in Sydney.
As the ShipStation Brand Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing and measuring all ShipStation marketing activities for Australia and New Zealand. The right candidate will have experience creating and executing campaigns across a variety of channels that lead to high value trial signups for ShipStation. While this role does not directly manage a team, s/he will work with functional leaders and third party contractors to plan activities and ensure they are successfully completed to achieve the desired outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Strategy
- Develop a deep understanding of the ShipStation product and the customers it serves in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Use this information to inform and empower functional teams including content, partner, events, and performance so we can build accurate targeting, positioning, and acquisition activities to achieve our goals.
- Work with our US-based performance marketing team to advise on local cultural and language requirements for online activities, e.g. paid search, paid social, landing pages, etc.
- Identify key promotional online and offline channels for building awareness in the market and generating new leads. Create a calendar of activities that drive increased trial signups and activations.
- Create annual marketing plans, own the progress and execution of those plans, and track and report on performance.
- Work with marketing leadership to understand the annual budget targets. Advocate for necessary changes. Track expenses. Recommend quarterly adjustments based on performance.
- Stay on top of marketing trends and make recommendations for new channels to try, strategies to deploy, etc.
- Meet regularly with your GM, marketing and ShipStation leadership teams to share updates on performance and marketing strategy.
Brand Awareness
- Identify and develop relationships with key industry experts, partners and publications to raise the profile of ShipStation in the market.
- Work with our US-based marketing team to build new and refine existing content and assets for local market relevance, e.g. blogs, sponsored emails, etc.
Event Planning and Execution
- Plan, budget and organize all AU & NZ events. This will involve building the project plan, then working with the event organizers or stand builders, and internal teams to ensure each event is a success.
- Plan creative ways that ShipStation can stand-out before, during and after events. This may involve social media marketing during the event, contests to incite booth traffic, and more.
Partner Marketing Strategy
- Plan and execute co-marketing campaigns with key partners that drive mutual acquisition goals, using the various types of marketing efforts ShipStation can offer - blog posts, social media mentions, contests, sales trainings, webinars, event participation, etc.
- Edit and create partner collateral, including but not limited to: blog posts, webinars, partner listings, and other pieces of marketing collateral. You will also support the content marketing team in driving partner participation and disseminating marketing assets through partners.
Customer Acquisition
- Localise and promote relevant global and local thought leadership content. Identify user stories and work with the Marketing Content team to turn them into testimonials.
- Work with our US-based performance marketing team to advise on local cultural and language requirements for online activities, e.g. paid search, paid social, landing pages, etc.
- Identify key promotional online and offline channels for building awareness in the market and generating new leads. Create a calendar of activities that drive increased trial signups and activations.
Operations
- Work with the US-based data team to ensure we’re tracking and measuring all key metrics, including trial starts, conversions, ROAS, and LTV by channel. Monitor performance weekly and identify areas of opportunity or concern. Always be prepared to communicate the performance narrative - where are we excelling? Where are we behind? Why, and what should we do about it?
- Identify and maintain a list of contractors for graphic and copywriting support. Oversee their queue of work and ensure timely payment.
What We Are Looking For:
- 4 years of marketing experience
- 1 years of e-commerce, shipping/logistics and/or SaaS experience preferred
- 4-year degree
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Experience setting goals, channel targets, and reporting on performance metrics like CPA, CAC, ROAS, and LTV
- Proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership of marketing activities for a brand and growing performance
- Experience working with and managing third party agencies
- Proactive: well-organized and able to track down answers and meet deadlines
- Curious and creative: willing to test new ideas
- Adaptable: able to develop and document new processes and learn from failure and quickly iterate
What will Make You Stand Out
- Industry experience in e-commerce, shipping, logistics and/or Saas
Travel Requirements
- Less than 10% travel, occasional
