Key Responsibilities: 

  • Capture the most compelling footage with interviews, b-roll, moments, events, and other filming opportunities at the perfect exposure, framing, focus, and color in every shot  
  • Lead field and studio productions by running cameras, audio, lighting, serving as grip/gaffer, and operating teleprompters and other filmmaking equipment  
  • Be flexible, discreet, nimble, and become a filming ninja on the ground, at times shooting and producing as a lone operator on quick-turn, high-profile shoots and events around the country  
  • Own your footage offloads and backups in the field (DIT), being exceptionally organized and confident your footage is captured, secured, and properly labeled after every shoot  
  • Run all internal staff communication streaming events, managing cameras, audio feeds, and software including Hopin, Streamyard, Zoom, and others  
  • Assist Director of Photography on large-scale shoots with equipment transport and setup, creative approach, shooting, and general production duties on set  
  • Work with producers, editors, and other staff to craft storyboards and detailed shot lists that achieve and exceed creative objectives for every video project  
  • Actively collaborate within and beyond the video team to seek efficiency in our workflows, pitch creative ideas, research new and better ways to capture content, and help us grow into a best-in-class video production capability 

 

Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all the following skills and experiences: 

 

  • 3-5 years of filming experience with an agency, production house, or media environment  
  • Deep understanding and comfort working with cinema-grade cameras (Sony FS7, Canon C300MKii, RED & ARRI), mirrorless cameras (Sony A7sIII, Sony FX3), lighting, audio, and grip equipment  
  • Deep understanding of post-production workflows, camera file formats and management, codecs, LUTs, proxies, syncing footage, and the ability to execute workflow process improvements  
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite products (Premiere Pro, Rush, Media Encoder) and media management software (Hedge, LucidLink, IPV) 
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs from the floor to move video gear on shoots  
  • Must be able to travel domestically for at least 50% of full-time work 
  • Highly effective with time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with the ability to execute multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced work environment  
  • Must possess impeccable written and oral presentation skills, able to communicate ideas effectively to members of our community, clients, and senior management.  Highly customer-focused by producing professional cinematic content on every shoot and hitting deadlines for all projects
