Job Description:
Serve as a key face-to-face contact and liaison for customers. Generate sales while providing quick, accurate, courteous service to customers. Handles and processes industrial, commercial, and contractor telephone inquiries and orders. Develops and maintains excellent customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sell merchandise to customers using product and applications knowledge to select material that best meets customer needs. When applicable, or as assigned, service orders that have been called in for customer pickup.
- Achieve goals and objectives by quoting, promoting, selling, negotiating, and closing deals.
- Interact daily with customers in contracting and construction management and end users. By listening and understanding the customer, you will be able to analyze their needs and present solutions as to how Standard Electric Company can assist in achieving their goals operationally, environmentally and financially.
- Partner and collaborate with internal team members such as customer service reps, quotes, pricing and sales management, and credit department.
- Proactively handle customer issues/challenges for resolution and process and report potential claims.
- Maintain an open line of communication with management by informing of deals, local competition and market conditions.
- Proactively handle customer issues/challenges for resolution.
- Assist with maintaining customer records, files, and reports of business transactions.
- Participate in continuous training sessions to develop and increase industry knowledge.
- Performs other related duties as dictated by business necessity or assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 3 years prior experience in electrical industry.
- Technical trade school or college degree preferred.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with customers at retail level.
- Ability to evaluate products in terms of customer needs.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and handle many issues without supervisory support.
