What does a Swine Technician do?
- They, along with their teammates, are responsible for the daily care of pigs in our sow farms.
- They learn and develop specialized husbandry skills to provide the optimal care and environment for the animals..
- They learn to recognize health issues and how to properly care for the animals.
- They chore the barns to make sure each animal has food and water.
- They powerwash and disinfect rooms to prevent disease.
- They work Monday through Friday and since animals need care 7 days a week they also work alternating weekends and holidays.
- They work with a team and provide input on production and animal concerns.
- They work safely to avoid injuries to themselves, others and the animals.
- They follow biosecurity guidelines so everyone stays healthy.
- The most important thing they do is follow all Animal Welfare policies and practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
