Custom Hoists in Hayesville is seeking an Quality Manager to join our team. We are looking for an experienced professional who will be responsible for driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's quality policy. The individual will work cross-functionally with various departments including customer service, purchasing, engineering, sales, and manufacturing.
Description of Tasks:
- Improves and maintains the quality management systems at all Custom Hoists operations.
- Creates, documents, and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
- Provides and oversees inspection activity for product throughout the production cycle.
- Audits adherence and effectiveness of quality systems.
- Authorizes and follows up on corrective actions, preventative actions, and opportunities for improvement.
- Formulates, documents, and maintains quality control standards and ongoing quality control objectives.
- Coordinates measuring and test equipment calibration, verification, and use.
- Directs internal audits of quality system.
- Initiates and conducts supplier quality audits.
- Prepares for and hosts customer audits.
- Manages non-conforming product control and disposition.
- Coordinates document control.
- Directs sampling and inspection of production and prototype products.
- Develops and submits PPAP documents per customer requirements.
- Maintains quality and inspection records.
- Assists in inspection and evaluation of returned product in the repair department.
- All other duties as directed by management.
- The scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
Requirements:
- Experience with quality management systems.
- Experience with PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, SPC, Lean.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Leadership ability and effective people skills.
- Decisive problem solver.
- Computer proficient (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
- 3-5 years' related experience.
- Domestic and international travel required.
