About the Department of Dermatology:
The Department of Dermatology is a department of the Stanford School of Medicine and one of the leading departments in the United States. Our preeminent faculty spans from emerging leaders to highly accomplished physicians and scientists, including

About the Position:
This position is for a Strategic Research Manager will work directly with Prof. Howard Chang to catalyze RNA medicine program at Stanford. They will coordinate effective and timely communications, track milestones, interface with funders, facilitate annual reviews and Management Group meetings, ensure timely publications, data availability, proper IP management, and support pre-clinical research activities. Also facilitate the transfer of reagents, data, and information among team members. They will work with faculty investigators, and Host Institutions for federal and foundation award. They will work with each Host Institution and Co -Investigators to track budgets and ensure appropriate deployment of resources.
Duties include:
- Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.
- Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.
- Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
- Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance.
- Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
- May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD degree in Molecular, Cell Biology, or Genetics
- Demonstrated broad knowledge and network in RNA science.
- Expertise in project management of large academic programs with multiple components including clinical research, fundamental research, and teaching functions.
- Demonstrated experience with industry, government, and/or philanthropic supporters of academic programs.
- Demonstrated experience with the operations of a research program spanning multiple labs and sites.
- Leadership training
- Experience with web -based research management tools
- Experience with public speaking
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate constituencies which could span multiple organizational boundaries.
- Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills.
