Description
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our administration team. The Accountant is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Executive Director of Finance. The Accountant will be responsible for supporting and performing accounts receivable and cash accounting activities, managing accounts payable and PCard processes and providing support for all financial activities in Infinite Campus. The successful candidate will have experience with accounting processes and principles and be comfortable working with financial data and systems. The successful candidate will also assist with the collection of pertinent information for external audits, assist with journal entries for financial reporting and operations and will be the first point of contact for accounting issues.
This is a 12 month, full time, benefited position with a salary range from $65,000 - $80,000 based on related experience. Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation of internal financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the financial system and from departments.
- Follow established accounting processes.
- Maintains and balances a consolidation system by inputting data, scheduling required jobs, verifying data.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information.
- Supports PCard processes and procedures.
- Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice entry.
- Supports accounts receivable activities by managing payment applications and collections.
- Manages fee application and collection in Infinite Campus.
- Assists with monthly payroll by inputting staff pay adjustments into the payroll system and reconciling balances to the payroll register.
- Manages departmental and classroom level budgets.
- Completes weekly revenue reconciliations, balancing various receivable platforms to bank transactions.
- Develops and supports accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, automating/streamlining processes, and recommending changes.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.

Education and Related Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree. Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 4-5 years’ experience in accounting or related field.
Materials and Equipment Operating Knowledge:
- Operating knowledge of school and district information technology systems and any other department specific software and equipment required within 2 months after entering position.
- Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, email, etc.
