Stark County Regional Planning Commission is accepting applications for the full-time position of Regional Planner. This is a professional position responsible for preparing planning studies and technical reports in major work elements of comprehensive planning and planning administration programs, including the following: zoning and land use planning and analysis, environmental planning, housing and economic data analysis and preparation of long range plans.
Characteristic Work: Complete planning research, analysis and composition of various comprehensive planning projects. Review and prepare recommendations regarding proposed zoning amendments and compliance of new subdivisions and developments with applicable subdivision regulations and state law. Attend and present at various public meetings. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. A working knowledge of GIS is required, and use of social media for public involvement is desired.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two (2) years professional experience in a planning related field in urban/regional planning, or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban/regional planning or closely related field.
Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000
