Job Title: Payroll Specialist Department: Finance
Reports to: Controller Effective Date: 05/18/2021
Status: Exempt
Job Summary: Payroll Specialist responsible for maintaining payroll systems and processing paychecks according to schedule and in the correct amount.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
· Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
· Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
· Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
· Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
· Identifies and recommends updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- 4 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, HR, or a similar field preferred. Or appropriate capacity/experience
- 3 years using ADP Workforce Now
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
