The State College YMCA is currently accepting applications for a part-time Water Fitness Instructor to teach fitness classes for participants. The instructor will lead the group through appropriate exercises by providing personalized attention where necessary, clear and concise instruction, and motivation. Potential applicants should be available weekday mornings and evenings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Instruct a group water exercise class while assessing each individual’s ability to complete exercises, substituting movements where necessary.
- Provide fitness instruction while maintaining high safety standards.
- Complete all necessary class paperwork – attendance and lesson plans.
- Convey a positive attitude personalize relationships with members enrolled in the class.
- Assist aquatics staff in responding to emergencies as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Must possess excellent knowledge in the areas of health and fitness.
- Training, education, experience, or certification in a related fitness field. Fitness experience does not have to be aquatic related.
