Responsibilities
Kent E. Gorsuch & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance companies, is seeking a litigation paralegal to join our Detroit Claim Litigation office in Southfield, MI. Qualified candidates will have civil litigation and insurance defense experience, the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and the ability to prioritize workload in a time sensitive environment.
Responsibilities will include supporting 2-3 attorneys with discovery related tasks, medical record summaries/chronologies, case evaluation/facilitation summaries, motion writing, legal research, and trial preparation. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement allows for two days per week remote working and three days in-office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred
- 3-5 years of No Fault and civil litigation experience, preferably Insurance Defense or Personal Injury Experience
- Background of managing a high-volume litigation docket, including, drafting written discovery for 1st and 3rd party litigation, reviewing medical records, writing and preparing case evaluation/facilitation summaries, and drafting motions
- Familiarity with Court Rules and Procedures
- Strong software/technical skills specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience working in an electronic/digital environment
