The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting for a Fish and Game Program Technician located in Juneau!

 

What you will be doing:

The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries Information Services Section is seeking a full time Fish and Game Program Technician. This position serves as the Department’s primary point of contact for Seafood Processing Permits and general questions about commercial fishing in Alaska. Primary duties include issuing permits, providing fisheries information to the general public, producing reports of harvest and processing activities and providing general support for annual processing reports.

The working conditions you can expect:

This position is located at the Fish and Game Headquarters office in Juneau. Daily work involves communicating with commercial fishing permit holders, processors, the public, and Fish and Game regional staff throughout the Division. This position also works closely with their supervisor and staff from other state and federal agencies to help provide guidance to permit holders.

Special Note:
 A valid driver's license is required.

Two years of office clerical experience or technical experience related to fish, wildlife or habitat resources;
OR
One year of experience providing advanced clerical services based on established procedures, precedents, and policies in administrative, informative, and/or programmatic functions. This experience includes work such as an Office Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution: 
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience).
