What You Will Be Doing
The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Support Services is recruiting a Non-Permanent Recorder 1. The position is in Anchorage and is part of the Recorder’s Office Archival Unit. The position shares duties with three other Recorder 1’s, overseen by the Recorder Supervisor. The position is responsible for the creation and preservation of the permanent public record of the Recorder’s/UCC offices statewide. This position is responsible for the creation of both filmed and digital daily document images from all Statewide Recorder’s Offices, as well as multiple other document retention processes and including other duties as assigned. The successful applicant should be knowledgeable of the purpose and functions of recording, image creation and preservation, and have strong technical skills.
 
Mission and Culture
Department of Natural Resource’ mission is to develop, conserve and maximize the use of Alaska’s natural resources consistent with the public interest. The Recorder’s Office supports this mission by providing a secure, accessible, and impartial place to record and preserve the permanent public record of Alaska. This position aids in creating digital and film records that establish the permanent public record.
 
Core Responsibilities 
This position creates daily digital and film images from documents recorded in all Statewide Recorder’s Offices.

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Experience including the performance of administrative support assignments; specifically, typing or data entry, or working with documents concerning ownership and encumbrances on property, such as deeds, liens, mortgages, promissory notes, financing statements, plats, or surveys.

Progressively responsible experience that includes responsibility in working with documents concerning ownership and encumbrances on property, for example, deeds, liens, mortgages, promissory notes, financing statements, plats, or surveys.

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
