The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline.
Additionally, the incumbent follows up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of the pending investigation and staff assignment.
This enables the supervisor to ensure the Child Safety Risk Assessment is completed within the prescribed timeframes.
Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties. This requires coordination with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN).
Review appropriate databases for the previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
Provides clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit. This employee functions on an independent level while performing a variety of duties, which require initiative and sound judgement.
Prepares intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline. Case is then assigned in Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) and CPI is notified.
This same procedure is followed for any Out-of-town Inquiry Request that is received.
