Under supervision, the Building Code Inspector (Safety Fire - Inspections) performs inspections for compliance with policy, procedures, state and federal regulations and standards to ensure safety and compliance.
Gains knowledge of changes in state, OSHA, NFPA and other safety codes and regulations as applicable.
Interprets and administers regulatory and technical issues and documents compliance regarding safety laws and regulations to ensure safety and well-being of the public.
Monitors and records functionality and location of emergency equipment and other related items.
Plans and coordinates inspections and audits of assigned facilities/sites for procedural compliance and to maintain appropriate accreditation.
Provides guidance and consultation regarding fire safety inspections and other related activities.
Utilizes a variety of monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment and instruments to gather and enter data records.
Performs training and data management in related areas as needed.
High school diploma or GED AND One year of related experience. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license. Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
